The humanization of everything

Let's face it; we humans think the sun rises and sets on humankind. We give human characteristics and traits to animals (Bambi, Bugs, Barney,. Nemo) even though they survive quite nicely with the ones they came with. Have you ever seen a Preying Mantis catch a grasshopper? It just grabs the hopper and starts eating. (Oh, that's cruel!) Do you realize that it is the fate of the majority of things in the sea to be eaten alive? In Alaska the wolf and eagle populations rise and fall with the annual rabbit population. In the Animal Kingdom, one is born either predator or prey, or often both.

And, of course, we don't stop with animals. We give God human characteristics also. When many people attempt to picture God they see an old man with a long white beard. Something like Dumbledore in the Harry Potter movies. We are told that we can make God angry. We are told that we can please God; make Him happy. We are told this by folks who say they read it in the Bible. When we are told this it is usually in the context that if we act in some charitable way we can make God happy and that if we have any fun that God will be angry. The truth is that God, that is, the One Source, is incapable of anger. The truth is that God doesn't care one way or the other what we do. It isn't necessary. There are Laws (Its laws) which govern all of the Kingdoms which exist; The Mineral Kingdom, The plant Kingdom, the Animal Kingdom, The Human Kingdom, and all of the spiritual kingdoms. The Laws cannot be broken. The basic law is, "if - then".

If you read the bible for spiritual instruction there are only three things you need to get from it.
1. In the beginning... God created man in His image. (A truth you need to understand.)
2. As you sow, you shall reap. (This Law is unbreakable)
3. As you would have others do unto you, do you likewise unto them.
Number 3 is an explanation as to how to keep from breaking number 2. The rest of the Bible is commentary. The thing to remember is...
God is Love. Again, God IS Love. Love and fear cannot coexist. Any organization which seeks to hold its membership by teaching fear, whether it is fear of excommunication, or fear of hell-fire, has nothing to do with God (and vice versa). Nothing to do with God. Everything to do with power and control. One of the greatest evils that was ever loosed on humanity was when one man decided it was up to him to tell others what God required.

As hard as we might look we cannot SEE God. And yet we see God everywhere we look. When we look at the ocean we see God. When we look at a loved one we see God. When we look at a skid mark on the pavement we see God. When we look at Jack the Ripper we see God. There are no good things. There are no bad things. There are only things. There are no good people. There are no bad people. There are only people. Sometimes people make choices which are not in the best interest of all concerned, but no one ever gets away with anything. Choices have consequences. There is no free lunch. What goes around really does come around.

As you read this blog (if you read this blog) you will see that it captures the maturation process of one who is constantly seeking, with an open mind, the answers to many questions. You are more than welcome to join me in this process.
